Where We Come From

Faith on Hill was established in Milwaukie, Oregon in 1876. The Church moved to the location on Hill Road in 1971, where it presently meets.

In the late 1800's there were a few German Evangelical families from Wisconsin living in Milwaukie, Oregon. A pastor named Samuel Heninger came and preached to them on Wednesday May 10th, 1876 and the group was organized as the Emmanuel Evangelical Church of Milwaukie. They started meeting in a store in downtown Milwaukie. The church continued in Milwaukie for the next 108 years until the EUB merger with the Methodist Church in 1968 forced us relocate. Along the way the name of the church was changed to Faith on Hill and our ministry commitment expanded to North Clackamas county including Milwaukie, Oak Grove and Gladstone. But while our location may have changed, our commitment to being on God's mission in this world and in our neighborhood has never wavered.
